Marrit Steenbergen Sets New Dutch Record in 200 IM at Eindhoven Qualification Meet

Marrit Steenbergen made a splash at the Eindhoven Qualification Meet by breaking her own national record in the women’s 200 individual medley. The Dutch swimmer showcased her talent and determination by clocking in at 2:08.86 in the final, surpassing her previous mark of 2:09.16 set in the same pool last year.

Earlier in the day, Steenbergen had already captured a victory in the 100 freestyle with an impressive time of 52.72. Her dominating performance left her competitors, including Sam van Nunen and Marie Wattel, trailing by more than 1.5 seconds. Both of Steenbergen’s times in the 100 free and 200 IM events were the only ones of the day that met the Olympic A cut standard.
