After an incredibly fast start to the U.S. National Championships, which saw records being broken and world records almost being shattered by swimmers like Katie Ledecky, the competition continues on Day 2 in Indianapolis. The second day of the championships will feature exciting races in the men’s and women’s 200 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 backstroke, and 50 butterfly.

The morning session on Wednesday will begin with the women’s 200 freestyle. Katie Ledecky, who gave a dominant performance in the 800 freestyle, will be aiming to continue her success in this event. She is the top seed, facing tough competition from swimmers like Erin Gemmell, Claire Weinstein, Bella Sims, Leah Smith, Paige Madden, Katie Grimes, Torri Huske, and Hali Flickinger.

On the men’s side, local favorite Drew Kibler holds the top seed in the men’s 200 freestyle. Kieran Smith and Carson Foster, among others, will be challenging him in what promises to be a competitive race. Teen sensation Thomas Heilman will also be in the mix, having recently broken one of Michael Phelps’ National Age Group (NAG) records in the 200 butterfly on Day 1.

The women’s 200 breaststroke features familiar favorites as the top seeds. Lilly King, Kate Douglass, and Annie Lazor are expected to lead the pack. Swimmers like Isabelle Odgers, Kaitlyn Dobler, and some up-and-coming talents will be chasing after them.

In the men’s 200 breaststroke, Matt Fallon, Charlie Swanson, Will Licon, Nic Fink, and Jake Foster are the ones to watch as they vie for the top spots.

Regan Smith, fresh off her win in the 200 butterfly, will be looking to make an impact in the women’s 200 backstroke. This stacked event also includes Olympians Phobe Bacon, Claire Curzan, Rhyan White, and rising star Isabelle Stadden.

In the men’s 200 backstroke, Ryan Murphy, Shaine Casas, and Carson Foster are set to lead the pack in what is expected to be a thrilling race.

The women’s 50 butterfly is filled with talent, with swimmers like Kate Douglass, Torri Huske, Abbey Weitzel, Gretchen Walsh, Claire Curzan, Natalie Hinds, Gabi Albiero, and Beata Nelson vying for the top spot.

After missing out on the finals in the 100 freestyle, Caeleb Dressel is back in action in the 50 butterfly. As the top seed, he will face tough competition from swimmers like Michael Andrew, Zach Harting, Ryan Held, and Aiden Hayes.
